Five Hydrographical Basin Agencies were created and are represented on the following map.

MISSIONS:
The missions of the agencies are:  

1. To elaborate and to update the hydraulic cadastre and the hydraulic balance of the hydrographical basin, as specified by the articles 127 and 128 of the law n° 83-17 of the 16^th July 1983, and to collect for that objective, all statistical data, documents and information on water resources, samplings and water consumptions.

2. To participate in the elaboration of the development programmes, mobilization and water resources affectation, initiated by the enabling organs for that purpose and to follow their achievement.

3. To give their technical opinion on every permission required for the use of water resources in hydraulic public field, set up in the conditions fixed by the legislation and the regulation in force.

4. To elaborate and to propose the distribution plans of water resources put on active service at the level of the large works and hydraulic systems between the different users.

5. To participate at the state supervision operations on pollution of water resources and to determine the technical specifications related to the wastewaters disposals and to the operations of their treatment.

6. To inform and to make aware the home users, manufacturers and farmers in order to promote the rational use and the protection of water resources.
