Taken the inspiration from the theme proposed by UNESCO for the year 2010, on quantitative and qualitative problems of water, Algeria, as elsewhere in the world, is facing difficulties in controlling its resources and their degradation. The situation is aggravated by rapid population growth, expansion in industrialization and climate change. Indeed, it is also essential to have an overview of current research that impacts on water protection and the environment but also on the economies of the Mediterranean.
In the line of controlling and safeguarding these resources, the Hydraulic Department (University of Annaba) proposes the 1st International Symposium on Water (CIE2010).
The purpose of the CIE is to display the concerns and the latest technologies related to water, aiming to integrate research findings on the operational plan which are: planning, protection, treatment, regulation and the environment.
Finally, the conference organizers hope that this meeting could be a brainstorming and a convivial place for a research of a full dimension.
