L'Algérienne
Des Eaux (ADE)
is an industrial
and commercial national
public
corporation, endowed with
the moral personality and the financial autonomy. It was created by the executive
decree n°
01-101 of the 21st April 2001. It is placed under the Minister of Water
Resources' supervision, and its head office is based in Algiers.
MISSIONS:
The establishment is charged :
 within the setting of the
national policy of development :
to assure all over the national territory, the implementation of the national
politics of the drinking water through the hold in charge of activities of
operations of production management, transport, treatment, storage, work on the
water supply system, distribution and supply of drinking and industrial water as
well as the renewal and the development of infrastructures related to it;
On that basis, it is charged,
by delegation:
a. of the normalization and the supervision of the quality of the distributed
water;
b. to initiate every action aiming at the economy of water, in particular:
-
the improvement of the efficiency
of transfer and distribution networks;
-
the introduction of any technique
of water preservation;
-
fighting against waste water
developing actions of informing, training, teaching and making aware users;
-
the conception, with the
educational public services, of school programs distributing the culture of the
water economy;
c. to plan and to put in work the yearly and multi-year programs of investments;
The present establishment is
substituting the whole of national, regional and local public establishments and
organisms within the exercise of the production public service mission and the
drinking water distribution, in particular :
-
the national agency for the
drinking and industrial water and sewage (AGEP)
-
the national public establishments
regionally responsible for drinking water management ;
-
the EPEDEMIA of wilayas;
-
the local
authorities control and
services of water management and distribution.
The clauses of this substitution are expressed in the articles of the
ministerial decree n° 01-101 of the 27 Moharem 1422 correspondent to April 21st,
2001.
